Dogs are honestly the best animals. They’re loyal, sweet, kind, and beautiful creatures. There are many different breeds of dogs – bulldogs, retrievers, sheppards, etc. But truly, the best breed of dog is the dachshund, otherwise known by their common name, the wiener dog. There is a long list of reasons that the wiener dog is the greatest dog, but here are just a few reasons.

1. They're friendly.

These dogs are the friendliest dog you could ever find. They may be apprehensive to approach you, as most dogs are at first, but once you let them get a good sniff, they’ll be your best friend forever. Just look at this little fella hanging out with his lion bestie.

2. They're sporty.

Wiener dogs love to run and play, and they also love to participate in many sports and activities that their humans love. Basketball, football, baseball – you name it, they love it. This little guy is about to hit a gnarly kickflip.

3. They're heroic.

Not all dogs can save and protect humans the way these little guys do. Their bravery is unmatched. Just look at this serious wiener, patrolling and looking out for the other dogs at the local park during lunch time.

4. They’re great at coming up with costume ideas.

Wiener dogs can come up with zaniest ideas for costume parties. They use their long bodies to their advantage, and always turn out to be the winner of the costume contest. This young wiener dog is about to go trick-or-treating with her little humans.

5. They're great sales representatives.

These little sausage dogs know how to work customers. They use their cute faces and big puppy dog eyes to lure people in and convince them to buy something. These young ladies are workin’ their magic at this lemonade stand.

6. They’ll keep you motivated.

Wiener dogs like to keep their humans going. Whether it be getting you to exercise or making sure you get something to eat, they’ll be there for you. These three are trying to get their owner to take them for a walk.

7. They like to party.

Never drink alone when there’s a wiener dog around. They’ll always be down to get lit with you on the weekends, and will always help clean up afterwards. These little sausage dogs are true friends.

8. They'll love you forever.

At the end of the day, these little guys will stick with you forever. They live for a long time, so they’ll be by your side until you're old and sitting in your rocking chair. They’ll love you no matter what, and will do anything to make you happy.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
