When going off to school, there is comfort in knowing that no matter where you go, and what you do, you'll always have people there for you. Whether it's family, friends, employers, people in the community-the comfort of the support they give you is truly heart warming. Sometimes it is common to forget where you come from and the people who helped shape you into who you are, but it's honestly really sad. So here are eight reasons why your hometown friends will always be some of the best people you'll ever meet.
1. You grew up together
Whether we met in the diaper days or the awkward teen years, they were a crucial part of your life and helping shape who you were. They were there for the mess ups, the first dates, the brace face look and so much more.
2. You made mistakes together
With growing up comes mistakes, and who better to make mistakes with than your childhood best friend(s). You don't always make the brightest decisions but there's no one else I'd rather have by my side.
3. You're one big happy family
Your family is theirs and their family is yours. You can fully expect not only your family supporting you with whatever you decide to pursue in life, but you can expect their family supporting you 100% along the way as well. When you spend your life growing up together, you're bound to become like family to each other.
4. They keep you grounded
No matter where you go in life, they are always there to remind you of who you are and where you came from. They are some of your biggest supporters and want to see nothing but greatness come from you.
5. Always there for you, no matter what
If its 2 a.m. or 3 in the afternoon and you just need to talk, they will be there for your regardless of the situation. They know you and everything you've went through in life to get to the point to where you are at now.
6. They've seen you at your worst and your best
After a break-up or before your first big job interview, they've seen you at your worst and your best. They know how bad you really look at 8 a.m. on a Monday and still love you anyway.
7. You share so many memories
First day of kindergarten to first day of senior year, they've been through it all. First homecoming, first date, first break-up, and the drama to come with it all. The memories are endless and unforgettable.
8. They'll be there even after high school
Although you might go to different colleges and be separated by 3+ states and a couple hundred miles, they'll still be there at the end. Nothing makes coming home for break more exciting than knowing that you get to see your best friends.
