Buffalo is a really wonderful city that sadly tends to be overlooked as one of the best cities in New York! The city has so much to offer and here is why I think Buffalo is an amazing city!
1. The chicken wings.
Yes, chicken wings-- not buffalo wings. You will seriously not find better chicken wings than in the city of Buffalo. Whether your loyalty falls with Anchor or Duffs, you will most certainly find some of the best chicken wings of your life when you are in Buffalo.
2. The art scene.
Buffalo has plenty of museums, the most well known being the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Not to mention, there is also an amazing art scene for up and coming artists!
3. The theater district.
The theater district in Buffalo is a thriving scene! No matter what type of show you want to see, if you want to go to a musical or enjoy theater in the round, you can find exactly what you're looking for. In the summers, you can enjoy Shakespeare in the park, which is a wonderful way to spend your evenings!
4. The Buffalo Philharmonic.
Buffalo has an amazing philharmonic orchestra, conducted by the phenomenal JoAnn Falletta. When you go to a Buffalo Phil concert you can ensure that you will be treated to a night of beautiful music.
5. The Waterfront.
There is so much going on by the waterfront: from Canalside concerts, to sailing clubs, to paddle boarding, there is something for everyone on the waterfront. I pretty much live up there during the summer. It is by far my favorite place in Buffalo!
6. The food.
Buffalo has a massive amount of delicious restaurants. I can't forget to mention Food Truck Tuesdays and Taste of Buffalo. No matter what type of food you love, you will find great places to eat in Buffalo!
7. The history.
Buffalo is a pretty old city with an important role in American History. There is some beautiful architecture in Buffalo that tells the story of Buffalo's history. Plus, there are some really interesting forts from previous wars that are just a short drive outside of the city!
8. The community.
No matter what, Buffalonians stick together. We brave terrible, lake-effect snow packed winters. We suffer through season after season of the Bills and Sabres not making it to the playoffs. But we are proud. No one can hate on our beloved city. When we say, "Buffalove," we mean it!
