Ahh, February 14th, the one day of the year you hear the cries of single girls everywhere a little louder than normal. I'm not gonna lie, the 14th is a rough day for single people, what with all the mention of chocolate shaped hearts, and red roses. However, I think most people forget how great it actually is to be single on Valentine's Day. I mean come on you can.

1. You can eat whatever you want.

Ben & Jerry are the only boys you need in your life and they will always be there to see you through the toughest times. And I promise they won't tell anyone about the time you happened to go through three pints of Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

2. You don't have to worry about getting all fancied up.

No girl likes shaving, I promise you. And if one of us tells you otherwise, there's a 110 percent chance we're lying. Even though it’s always fun to dress up and go out, nothing is better than just staying in and wearing sweatpants (or no pants) with your hair in a messy bun and no makeup on. The feeling of being able to rub your eyes without running the risk of looking like a raccoon is one of the most satisfying things ever.

3. The possibilities are endless.

Want to go out on the town with your friends? Have fun. Want to stay in and have the night to yourself? You go for it. Have a cute guy that just texted you? Make a date. Being single, with no strings attached literally gives you the the opportunity to do just about anything your little heart desires.

4. You don't have to stress over finding the perfect gift.

How stressful is having to deal with finding that one perfect gift? And even when you finally manage to find it, it ends up costing you an arm and a leg. Being single on V day is probably your biggest money saver and it's nice having more than three bucks to your name for a change.

5. Treat yo'self, you sure as hell deserve it.

Bubble baths and Shawn Mendes are never a bad idea. Especially if you have them at the same time. The idea of watching two whole seasons of "Friends" sounds strangely appealing. Use today as a way to pamper yourself and do the things you like to do.

6. Girl's Night Out.

Grab your single girlfriends and hit the town. Make the night about y'all and go crazy. Take lots of pictures and make even more memories. At the end of the day your girls will be there for you way longer than any stupid boy will.

7. No need to worry about making reservations to a booked restaurant.

Nothing is worse then calling to your favorite restaurant and having them tell you that they are booked. Now imagine how much of a pain that would be on a day like Valentine's Day. No. thank. you.

8. Celebrate your singleness.

Having someone on Valentines is great and all, but I can guarantee you that nothing is better than being single. Don't let this one day of year tell you otherwise. You are a strong independent women who doesn't need a man to make her happy; you got that taken care of. Cherish the time you have to yourself and the freedom that comes along with it.

At the end of the day you're single on Valentines's Day, if that's the worst thing to happen to you then I think you're going to be OK. It's just another day on the calendar and it shouldn't leave you feeling as though you're going to die alone. You won't, not matter what you might think. So as the great Queen B once said, “All the single ladies, now put your hands up.”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
