Through all the failed relationships, you've always had your best friend. You want someone who loves you for who you truly are? Look at your best friend. For years you've tried to find someone who accepts you for all your quirks. If you do find someone like that you have to go through the process of hitting on them, the first date awkwardness, becoming a couple, learning everything about each others lives, meeting the families and so on. Instead of going through this process, you could look at the one who already knows this about you and knows your whole family. If this doesn't spark your interest, here are more reasons why you should consider it:
1. The secrets are already known.
When in a new relationship all the bad secrets about your past have to come out eventually. When you're with your best friend they already know all your secrets and most likely were the one who helped you get through the problems of those secrets. And you already know all of theirs. You don't judge each other for them and that's one of the best parts.
2. You know each other's dating life.
Dating someone new, you don't know their relationship history and what they have and haven't done. A lot of questions along your relationship have to be asked. Dating your best friend makes this easier because you already know all of their ex's, and you know all the goods and bads of their past relationships.
3. You're already super comfortable with each other.
You can be yourself with each other. You don't have to be scared to get judged by your favorite things and how you like to act, because your best friend is already so comfortable with you so you can just be yourself from the gecko.
4. You're aware of each other's faults.
You both already know each other inside out. You know each others imperfections. Any baggage you would bring to a new relationship, your best friend already knows and looks past.
5. You never have to try and impress them.
If you're anything like me your best friend has already seen you in your crappy lazy clothes and has seen you at your worse. There is no reason to try and impress them because they already adore you.
6. You know each other's insecurities.
You know what you guys love about each other and you guys already know what the other is insecure about. This makes your relationship even stronger. You both also know how the other feels about your insecurities because your best friend was the one who helped you and talked you through them.
7. You don't have to worry about your parents liking them.
Odds are your parents already think you're dating, and you don't need to do that whole "meet the parents for the first time" thing. You know your parents love them and they'll love it even more when you guys just start dating already.
8. You can tell each other everything.
Just like you always have.
