1. The food is all mine!
Every single piece is mine. I don’t have to worry about feeding two, or if they even like what I am making. Why do you need to find someone else to love you when food will always be there?
2. Learning to be independent.
From going to the movies to making tough life decisions, another person is not being factored into the equation. Becoming comfortable with doing daily tasks on your own makes it so much easier when you decide to become one with another person.
3. A bed all to yourself!
Stretching across the entire bed is one of the best feelings in the entire world, and you can experience it all the time when you are single. Sleep is a rewarding activity, and it can remain uninterrupted when there isn't another person in your bed.
4. You get to fall in love with yourself every day.
You become comfortable with the most intimate parts of yourself. The mole on your shoulder has blossomed into an identifying part of you, and you would not have it any other way.
5. It’s your agenda, not anyone else's.
If you want to wake up at 7 a.m. and go for a run, you don’t need to worry about nudging someone else on accident while climbing out of bed. You can make plans at any time with anyone and don’t need to answer to someone about what you are doing.
6. Figure out who you are.
Rocky road ice cream, walking instead of running, and hating any type of weather besides the rain are things you can discover about yourself without having an outside influence. Life throws obstacles at you, and it is better to handle them alone than having someone else trying to change you.
7. Your future doesn't depend on someone else.
Being so young and wanting a relationship can take a toll on your future. Spinning an entire life based on the idea that you will be with your significant other forever can really cause damage if you both decide it is just not working. On that note, you can also decide if marriage is even for you.
8. You can try new things without someone worrying that you’re changing.
Growing up, I heard countless people say that their significant other had changed when, in fact, they had found themselves. Starting to like a new band or wanting to play soccer every night should not affect a relationship that you are dedicated to.
