If you're sitting in your apartment right now thinking about how much you hate school and want to drop out, I urge you to hear me out. Everything you are sacrificing right now will be worth it in the future. Finals are here for you to show off your intelligence and I believe in you, so you should, too.
Tip 1: Organize
Drive or walk to the nearest Target and buy the biggest calendar you see along with highlighters and a pen. Each day, make a plan on which material you will work on first and give yourself breaks in between to relax.
Tip 2: Make flashcard/Use quizlet
This is something you have been doing since you learned how to read and write. Sometimes you just have to keep it simple and test yourself with flashcards to keep the brain sharp. If you are not into wasting paper because you hate global warming then open an account on quizlet.com where you can create flashcards online and use a variety of study tools while being on your computer or iPad.
Tip 3: Find a study buddy
Before you find yourself having trouble finding certain notes that will be on the test, ask someone in your class for their contact info. This will allow you to ask them for any questions you my have in the future and ask if they know of any study groups.
Tip 4: Sleep and eat like a baby
Make sure you sleep at least seven hours per night so you can function for your final. Most of your finals are going to have complex questions where your thought process will have to be in tact in order for you to succeed.
Tip 5: Don't Panic
Tell yourself " I will pass this final and be closer to graduation," If that doesn't motivate you I don't know what will. You have prepared so there is no need to worry.
Tip 6: Arrive early
The day of your final you should be as relaxed as possible because (hopefully) you have studied your tail off. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to clear your mind and go over any material you are still struggling to understand. Turn off your cellphone because there isn't anything more important than your final.
Tip 7: Workout
Go to the gym, workout, and clear your mind. This is a great way to keep your stress levels low and feel good on your way to the finals.
Tip 8: Buy Starbucks
A couple hours before your finals head over to Starbucks and get yourself a tall frappuccino with extra whip cream. Treat yourself because you should be proud of how much you have accomplished this year.
