We are all nearing the end of school in just a few short weeks, and I know everyones mind is already on summer. We're excited to be home for two months, see our families, hangout with friends, and most importantly, not have to worry about homework, tests, quizzes, papers, or anything regarding school. There is just one more obstacle that we have to get through, and that is the dreaded week of finals. If there's one thing I could say I hated about college, it would be finals. Here are just a few tips to help you make it through the week of finals.
1. Get plenty of sleep
If you're like me, you're used to staying up until 2 a.m. without even realizing it, and barely getting out of bed to drag yourself to class in the morning. Do all of your studying during the day so you can be in bed at a decent hour and be ready to ace those finals!
2. Drink LOTS of water
Keep yourself hydrated, and you'll have an easier time with staying awake during the day, and sleeping better at night.
3. Manage your time wisely
I know I'm not the only one that procrastinates or forgets about an assignment every once in a while, then stresses out trying to do it last minute. Finals week is definitely not the week to be doing that. Prioritizing your study time will help with not being so stressed all week.
4. Exercise daily
Exercising doesn't have to be spending three hours in the gym everyday lifting heavy weights! Take a break from studying every once in a while even if it's just walking around campus. Taking exercise breaks like that will keep your mind clear and give you a few minutes to not have to think about writing that paper or squeezing in that last homework assignment.
5. Eat right
Treating yourself to a gourmet home-cooked meal every night in college is not an option. It's very hard to eat right when you have easy access to fast food and ice cream, but most places have (somewhat) healthy options available. Maybe it's worth it to skip dessert in the caf and grab a piece of fruit instead, or trade that soda in for a water. Keeping your body nourished with the right food will give you more energy and help with those long study days.
