It's no secret us New Jerseyians have a different way of talking. Our accents our big and bold and very loud. But sometimes to out-of-staters it may seem like we're talking in another language. That's because in Jersey we have a few words that only we can understand. So if you're ever in Jersey and you hear some of these words, now you'll know what they mean.
1. Benny (n) - loud, trashy tourists who visit the shore towns in the summer.
2. Taylor Ham/Pork Roll (n) - the best piece of meat, possibly better than bacon. Most commonly served with cheese or eggs on a roll or bagel. Can be eaten anytime of the day.
3. Jug Handle (n) - the New Jersey way of making a left turn.
5. Fat Sandwich (n) - the most delicious thing you can ever eat. Most commonly associated with Rutgers, they are huge sandwiches filled with all types of things. (Mozzarella Sticks, Onion rings, chicken nuggets, etc.)
6. Disco Fries (n) - French fries with brown gravy and melted cheese. A must have if you enter a NJ diner.
7.Exit (n) - a number that allows us to identify where others are from throughout the state.
