Eight Must-See Places In NYC Before Summer Ends

There’s always something to do in the big apple, but here are some places that are a must this summer.

Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar

Located in Battery Park City, this is a rooftop bar where you drink Prosecco… with an ice pop (seriously what’s better?). Not only do you get to indulge in an alcoholic ice pop, you also get to experience a breathtaking view.

Location: 102 North End Ave (on the Conrad Hotel roof)

Times: 4 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Age: 21 and up

Tip: Get the Raspberry-Thyme

Price: $10-$155 (bottle of champagne)

Gagosian Gallery

The perfect place for an Instagram…or to buy modern art. Gagosian Gallery will be an experience like no other; always holding new exhibits, sculptures and an elite crowd coming through, including James Franco.

Location: 980 Madison Avenue

Time: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Age: Any

Tip: Always go to their website to check out which exhibit is being displayed.

Price: Free

Brass Monkey

Located in the Meatpacking District, this is a bar that offers a craft beer from a different region of America every season. Up on the roof you will find a beer garden with a view of the Hudson River. The Brass Monkey also offers special events such as The Lobster Boil (seasonal dates/can book for parties of 10 +), The Pig Roast (March to October) and the Beefsteak (the last Wednesday of every month).

Location: 55 Little W 12th St

Times: 12 p.m. - 4 a.m.

Age: 21 and up

Tip: If you are not a beer person get the Perfect Woman cocktail.

Price: $4-$60

People's Pops

Organic ice pops and snow cones freshly made in the flavors of cherry, lemon, orange and berry. The locations vary around the city, but I suggest the location of the High Line.

Location: High Line Park, west 15th street (10th Avenue)

Times: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Age: Any age

Tip: Get the Ice pop rather than the Shave Ice so you can walk around the High Line without making a mess.

Price: $2.50 - $3.50

Gigino at Wagner Park

Sit right on the water to enjoy luscious Italian food. The price is not too expensive and the tartufo is incredible.

Location: 20 Battery Pl

Times: 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Age: Any age

Tip: This restaurant is date worthy (sit outside of course)

Price: $8-$41

PH-D Rooftop Lounge At Dream Downtown

Located on the twelfth floor, this is the ultimate place for a girl’s night out. The loud music, bottle service and an upscale crowd will create a night that you and your friends will never forget.

Location: 355 West 16th Street

Times: 5 p.m. - 4 a.m.

Age: 21 and up

Tip: There will be a cover charge, go with a group of girls.

Price: $30+

North River Lobster Company

A 45-minute boat ride where you get a view of the city while indulging in lobster. The menu varies from lobster tacos to lobster ice cream. Don’t worry, there are other things available besides lobster, like chicken sandwiches or burgers.

Location: Pier 81, W 41st St.

Times: 11:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Age: Any age

Tip: Call ahead to make a reservation and to look up the times the boat will be sailing.

Price: $8-$69

Calle Ocho

The perfect spot to get brunch. Located on the Upper West Side, this place has unlimited sangria along with your Latin fusion entrees. They have almost every type of white and red sangria. They also hold private events to accommodate your party needs.

Location: 45 W 81st

Times: 6 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. weekdays, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for brunch

Age: Any age

Tip: Get the Gallitos for two!

Price: $6-$32

Go to any of these places and you will have yourself a great time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
