We all have those songs. The songs that make us afraid to take control of the music on road trips. The songs that crash and burn at pre-games. The songs that get you the "can you not" look from everyone in the room. Songs that are so bad that its not even funny — just sad. No matter how hard we try to hide these horrible jams from our friends and family, sooner or later Shuffle is just going to really screw us over. Here is a special sneak peek into a few of those songs on my iPod. Remember, this is a no-judge zone! Well, never mind, you can judge a little if you want.
1. "Rockstar"— Nickelback
We all know it's not an official cringe list without a little bit of the Canadian rock band we all love to hate. You may claim you hate Nickelback, but don't lie to yourself. You know you know every word of this jam.
2. "Perfect"— Simple Plan
Oh yeah, I was a very angsty seventh grader. Thank God I had this song to get me through the ups and downs of adolescence.
3. "Bet On It"— Troy Bolton, High School Musical 2
For anyone who knew me as a tween, "High School Musical" was not just a passion, it was a lifestyle. Imagine how red I turn when this song comes on in the car with my college friends. If you think the song is cringe-y, you should check out the clip. Yikes.
4. "Cyclone"— Baby Bash
Nothing says chaperoned middle school dance more than an Abercrombie polo, greasy hair, and "Cyclone" by Baby Bash.
5. "If We Were a Movie" — Hannah Montana
I'm 20. This shouldn't still be happening. But I can't help it. This song is so sweet and innocent, and Miley is now so...
6. "Lips of an Angel" — Hinder
I can't even understand what he's saying half the time, but props to the soulfulness.
7. "I Found A Way" — The Drake and Josh Theme Song
Yeah, I don't really know what to say about this one. I'm not going to say I purchased this song off iTunes only four months ago, but I'm also not going to deny it.
8. "Stars are Blind" — Paris Hilton
To be completely honest, this is my ultimate guilty pleasure song. I'm waiting for another hit, Paris!
Just a word of advice: if any of your cringe songs accidentally start playing at a party, just shrug it off. A jam is a jam, and you should own it!
