I don't know about you, but I've definitely had days where I'm dying to hang out with my friends, but just can't justify dropping 20 bucks on a movie. (Side note: Anyone who doesn't want to hang out with you or makes you feel bad because you don't have the money to do something is sucky, don't talk to them.) But there are plenty of things to do that are completely free and will definitely be memory makers.

Here's a list of things that won't break the bank and will be better than just sitting around on the couch with your friends:

1. Play Minute to Win It games.

Most of the stuff needed are things that you already have in your house, and who doesn't love a little friendly competition? Check out Pinterest for some inspiration!

2. Go for a hike/walk.

I really am not an active person, but there's something about looking out from the top of a mountain that makes all the horrible exercise and bugs worth it.

3. Cook something yummy together.

This is a personal favorite of mine. Check out this website for recipes with food you already have in your house!

4. Make a movie.

There is a variety of things that you probably thought when your read this: "you can't" or "it's childish". It's so fun, and you can make a movie about literally anything. There's also some pretty decent free editing software online as well.

5. Get crafty.

Let your artsy side out, make your own version of painting with a twist. Round of some cheap paint from the dollar store (I have some in the back of my garage) and embrace your inner Van Gogh. You could also make something practical like school decorations for your dorm!

6. Visit your local library.

So much free stuff! Libraries have free books, movies, and music! Some even have video games and online programs if you have a card. Take advantage of it, but make sure to bring things back on time.

7. Go backyard camping.

Grab a tent or an air mattress and spend the night next to a campfire making s'mores.

8. Plan a Staycation.

Plan a day to just have breakfast in bed, binge-watch a good show, and have a little R & R with your friends. Doesn't have to be fancy, just make a day designated to hanging out together.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
