8 Fashion Statement Pieces That Every Girl Must Own This Summer

Summer is one my favorite seasons because everyone's fashion sense seem to be very casual and laid-back. School is out and it is the time we can wear whatever we are comfortable with. During the hot weather days, it may just seem like the opportunity to wear a crop top and shorts. While on other days, we like to pull out that favorite maxi dress of ours. Whatever your outfit may be, here are my top 8 must have items for the summer.

1. Patterned Pants.

These patterned joggers from Abercrombie & Fitch are perfect for summer - comfy like sweatpants on the inside, but can also be pulled off with a button down as a casual outfit for work.

2. Denim Romper.

Rompers and jumpsuits definitely have gotten very popular this year. This denim romper from Anthropologie is a great statement look for a weekend in the city!

3. Crochet Beach Cover-ups.

The perfect addition to a beach day outfit is a cover up. This white crochet cover up from Nordstrom matches any swimsuit for the sun.

4. White Denim.

White jeans have become true statement bottoms year round. These Madewell skinny jeans can be nicely paired up with a coral top and Jack Roger's Sandals. And don't forget to double cuff the bottom of your jeans to give it that summer cropped look. You will be surprised that cuffing jeans can make a difference to how great your legs will appear!

5. Simple Leather Tote.

This downing tote in English Saddle from J. Crew is a great everyday bag whether you are off to work, heading to class, going to an afternoon brunch, or weekend gatherings with friends. It can fit all your necessities in one tote along with a detachable wristlet. It is the bag that can hold your laptop, books, and gym clothes for those busy days running to and from work. And adding a monogram will give it that personalized touch!

6. Varsity Graphic Tee.

An easy fit tee is a necessity to have during the summer months. Having a varsity tee like this one from Forever 21 adds a sporty look to your outfit whether you pair it up with high waisted denim shorts or just leggings and a pair of white Converse.

7. Simple White Open Shoulder Dress.

Every girl should have a simple white dress in her wardrobe. This open shoulder dress from Zara is a great summer addition to show off those tan shoulders of yours.

8. Fringe Kimono.

A chiffon kimono does the perfect layering to an outfit. This lightweight fringe kimono from Urban Outfitters adds a bohemian look whether you are spending the day at the beach or hanging out by the campfire during those summer nights making smores.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
