If you are a cafe lover like I am, here are some places you should check out across the Cincinnati area! Some of these cafes are chains and some are individually owned, but all wonderful nonetheless. Before I add my tidbits about each place, it should go without saying that I love the coffee at all of these venues.

I truly hope you get the experience these great places!

1. Saxby's Coffee - Montgomery, Ohio

This cafe possesses a very cozy atmosphere inside with couches and a fireplace located in the back. They have several tables to work or study, and they do offer a few food items including sandwiches and soups.

2. The Main Cup - Milford, Ohio

Located in the heart of Old Milford, this small, local joint has a very welcoming vibe. They have a few bakery items, but the main focus of this cafe is their coffee. They have bookshelves surrounding some of the tables which creates a very homey environment.

3. Cavu Coffee - West Chester, Ohio

This is a smaller joint located in West Chester. They have limited indoor seating, but have a few tables outside as well! This location is very trendy and fresh- simple decor, and a group of young baristas.

4. Deeper Roots Coffee - Oakley, Ohio

Although this coffee shop is located in the midst of other noteworthy cafes, you should not skip over this gem! Their simple menu allows the baristas to execute every order properly, and the simple, sophisticated feel of the place makes it very enjoyable to actually enjoy your coffee there.

5. Coffee Emporium - Cincinnati, Ohio

I recently visited the location on Erie Avenue, and realized this place was worth the hype! I ordered an iced Mocha and was very happy with the flavor. The blended drinks looked great and I'll definitely be trying that next time. My favorite part of this coffee shop was the upstairs seating. This location gives off a very rustic vibe, and the upstairs nook just added to that.

6. Branch Hill Coffee Company - Loveland, Ohio

This individually owned shop is a hidden gem of Loveland. Located off of Branch Hill Guinea Pike road, it conveniently has a drive-thru option. There is limited seating inside, but they have several tables located outside for when the weather is nice.

7. Goshen Grind - Goshen, Ohio

The Goshen Grind is almost unnoticeable from the main road, but was a pleasant surprise. They also have a drive-thru option, following the new trend of major coffee franchises. They have a few tables located inside, and the location has a very homey environment!

8. Coffee Please - Cincinnati, Ohio

Located in the Madeira area, I really loved this cafe! In addition to a latte, I ordered a Greek salad, and I was not disappointed. They do a great job of balancing the variety of light foods and desserts to their coffee options. They have lots of seating and they are usually quite busy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
