We all have our list of shows that we plan to binge watch in the future and everyone has different tastes for what they watch. Me, I tend to lean more towards superhero, fantasy, and supernatural; anything that has a dark theme and is hard to predict what is going to happen next. So I’ve done my best to try and list some of my favorite shows without leaning too heavily on one specific genre.

1. Gotham

This is a show for people who like their storylines a little darker or are just complete Batman fans like myself. Either way, you’d enjoy this story of the rise of the Dark Knight and all of the villains he faces. And let’s face it, the villains are the best part.

2. How I Met Your Mother

This is a good binge-worthy show for anyone who needs a laugh or are looking for a long-term commitment for a show. This show follows a group of friends who try to navigate the problems of early and middle adulthood and trying to find love. If you enjoyed ‘Friends’ you will love this show.

3. Sherlock

This is based off of the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle only it’s sort of what would happen with the characters in modern day. The show is only four seasons with only three episodes per season so it isn’t a long term commitment, but the episodes are 90 minutes longs so it does take some time to get through.

4. The Flash

This is a superhero show that has a lighter atmosphere to it. With this show you follow Barry Allen as he introduces the Arrowverse to metahumans, time travel, and even the multiverse (a big theme with the DC comic universe).

5. Arrow

This show follows Oliver Queen as he started on his dark path to become the Green Arrow. This show is darker than the other DC shows which makes it slightly more interesting if you ask me.

6. Jessica Jones

This show follows a former superhero turned private investigator as she attempts to stop Kilgrave, a man who abducted her for over a year of her life. She battles her PTSD and her evident alcoholism as she deals with all she had to endure.

7. Game of Thrones

This show has dragons, direwolves, magic, an army of the dead; what more can you want? Watch as the power struggle for the seven kingdoms escalates into all out war. And is the competition for the Iron Throne truly what this story is about or is there something even more mysterious going on beyond the borders.

8. The Magicians

I made the mistake of thinking this was just going to be some upbeat comedy show where a bunch of college kids realized they had magic. I was highly mistaken. While this show has its comedic moments, the essential theme and tone of the show is extremely dark. This is most definitely not a show to watch with your family.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
