7 Ways To Go Viral
The Verge

We’ve all see the numerous “best vines” accounts on Twitter and we all know how Facebook is run by pop culture references and food videos. A lot of us have even wished that we could do something like that, to go viral and become popular making online content. Well I’m here to teach you how!

1. Work at Buzzfeed.

Anybody can go to their website and start writing. The best part? Facebook seems to put everything pop-culture related that Buzzfeed pumps out directly onto the feed of the world. Aren't algorithms that control what you do and don't see fantastic? It's the future of social media! So collect all the cute gifs of kittens that you can and get ready to occasionally talk about how social media is making us more disconnected while on social media yourself. Boom! You’re a sensation!

2. Make some food.

America loves food and so called “food porn” is a great way to go viral. You could make macaroni and cheese and if you cut the video down to thirty seconds and put in a decent filter, it'll look delicious. People love short videos, so make sure to keep it under a minute with the use of heavy editing. Use plenty of slow-motion at the end to make the food look better and upload. You'll be infecting the Internet before you know it!

3. Talk about pop-culture.

Beyoncé. "The Office." Where's Frank Ocean? Memes. Mention any of the above, with little actual understanding, in a list article like this one and people will be closing their minds to war crimes in Africa and the Middle East because look at this cute gif of Jim and Pam! Guys!

4. Click-bait

Does your online content lack any of the above? It's okay. With a click-bait title, you can exaggerate what you're really talking about in order to force people to view your content. Want to see the cutest puppy pictures ever? Of course you do. Even if they turn out to be ugly puppies, it doesn't matter. You tricked everyone, and they’ll be just as likely to click on your next piece of work because we all have a need to see the CRAZIEST ENDING.

5. Steal content.

It's OK if you can't actual make any decent content of your own, you can always just take other people's work. Soflo Antonio on Facebook does it all the time and he gets millions of views. Re-upload it through your machine, stick your face in the beginning or add a new title and VOILA you've got your own original stolen content. Luckily, people won't care! You'll get the views and the popularity, and you might even steal the original creator’s money! Wow!

6. React

Reaction videos are, for whatever reason, big. People love them. Film yourself reacting to anything and put up a title like "I REACT TO THE CRAZIEST YOUTUBE CHANNEL" and you're on your way to getting the most possible exposure with the least amount of effort. There is an endless supply of entertaining videos on YouTube, so you’ll never have to worry!

7. Write about what's popular.

I know that it's hard to find a niche topic to discuss or effectively write about, so just do what's popular. You don’t have to actually search through real news to find something interesting. Regurgitate everything that you heard on Morning Joe into your own op-ed piece. Don't worry about adding original thought, most people won't notice or care! You're not adding anything new to the discussion, but people will share it anyway.

And there you have it! Seven easy ways to get popular online, all while doing as little work as possible.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
