During the month of February, people become overwhelmed with showing their loved ones just exactly how much they indeed love them. Although it can be extremely stressful, there are many simple ways to spread love not only to your loved ones, but to other member of the community, and world as well.
1.) Pay for someone else's coffee, tea, or beverage.
Paying for someone's beverage is not only inexpensive, but it can be a great way to spread love. This method of love spreading can be a great start to someone's day. It can also inspire others to do the same for someone they care about! And hey, who doesn't love to drink something?
2.) Compliment someone on their personality or your favorite quality that they have.
It's all fine and dandy to compliment someone for being beautiful. However, if you compliment someone for simply being themselves, it can go a whole lot further than an external appearance. It shows that you truly have been paying attention to them and it can really boost someone's confidence.
3.) Hold the door open for someone.
Okay, so I know this one sounds cheesy. But seriously, little acts of kindness can go a long way when you're having a bad day. This little act of love can literally take only 10 seconds and it shows someone that not all people in this world are rude.
4.) Donate your old clothes to those in need.
Helping others is a big way of spreading love. Take your gently used clothes to the nearest goodwill, donation drop-off, or red cross. Your clothes will be given or sold (for extremely cheap) to those who are less fortunate. You can actually drastically change someone's life by donating your used clothes. Everyone needs clothes and this act of love can go a long way.
5.) Go to a nursing home and visit the lonely.
So, as sad as this is, it's the truth. A lot of elderly people in nursing homes rarely get visitors. They literally see the same people on a day to day basis and don't really see their families. Although this isn't everyone is nursing homes, why not spread the love and go have a conversation with someone who's lonely? You could learn something really cool and even make a new friend! I'm looking at you Mr. Noga! (For the record: Mr. Noga was an elderly man I met at a nursing home and we became friends. See guys, it really does pay off.)
6.) Tell people you love them!
Granted, you may or may not be affectionate and that's all right. You still can be affectionate and not say the word love. Just replace the word with care or any other word you feel fit. The point is to draw in positive energy and spread it to others!
AND FINALLY, NUMBER 7.
7.) Encourage people to spread love.
What better way to spread love than encouraging others to do the same? It can start a chain reaction and the next thing you know, everyone can be spreading love and positivity in small, but helpful ways.
