Ah, winter break. Every college student has been anticipating your arrival since the last week of November, but now you're finally here. But after two days of sitting on the couch in your flannel pajama set, you've already started to count down the days until you return back to school. Have the winter break blues got you down? Check out these tips to avoid a boring break!
1. Be a tourist in your own town.
Just because you're having a staycation doesn't mean it has to be boring. Visit that coffee shop you always drive past. Support some local shops. You can pretty much do anything, just as long as you explore. Who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with your town again.
2. Learn to knit.
Winter is coming, and if you live somewhere cold, this skill could come in handy. Requiring only knitting needles and some yarn, it's some pretty basic stuff.
3. Catch up on those Z's.
Finals are incredibly draining and those all-nighters stole some beauty rest. Take some time to sleep and recuperate, another semester will be here before you know it and you'll be happy you rested.
4. Binge on some Netflix.
You (hopefully) stayed away from Netflix during finals week. As a reward, you can catch up with all your "Friends" like Dexter, Kimmy Schmidt, or maybe even find out who Gossip Girl truly is.
5. Learn how to contour.

6. Master some simple dishes.
College doesn't last forever, and you'll need to learn to cook sooner or later. Why not master some easy recipes for that post-graduation life people are always talking about.
7. Make a college bucket list.
Whether you're a freshman or a second-semester senior (yikes) it's always a good idea to make sure you're making the most of your college days. Make a list of all the things you want to do before you graduate. Make them weird or funny, so they're bound to be memorable.
However you choose to spend your winter break, I hope it's a good one. These are only a few suggestions. What other ideas do you guys have for a great break?
