Everyone knows that they will have to write papers in college. It's just a fact of life. What not everyone knows is that you will hit a wall and have major writer's block. You try and try to think of an idea that will be completely original and make it stand out among all the others. But no matter how hard you try you just can't seem to bring yourself to producing an idea.
Here's 7 ways to conquer writers block.
1. Put down the computer and walk away. When you sit and stare at a blank word document, you just stress yourself out more.
2. Grab a bite to eat. If you're hungry, your brain is only focused on food. Not that 5-page paper due in two days.
3. Get active! Do some jumping jacks. Do something to get the blood pumping and your mind working.
4. Get out the notes you took from your professor and read them. See if they left a little clue about what they are looking for.
5. Take a short nap. Being tired does not help you when you are trying to concentrate. It makes your brain feel weird.
6. Get artsy! Paint a picture. Draw a sketch. Be creative. It gets the imagination going.
7. Change the scenery. Take it to the library or the Drill. Sometimes the dorm can be a mind blocker.
