Oh, Ross. He's the member of the "Friends" gang who just couldn't seem to get his life together. We all love to hate him, but it's hard to deny the fact that we've all acted like Ross -- or felt his pain -- one time or another. Here are seven times Ross Geller pretty much exemplified what it means to be human.
1. Sometimes, people just don't understand our points of view and we lose our cool.
We all kind of hated Ross for sleeping with someone else while he and Rachel were broken up, but he did have a point. They were on a break. We've all been in Ross' shoes; sometimes, people just don't look at things from our point of view and it infuriates us.
2. We can try to seem like we're all right with things when, in reality, we're definitely not.
Remember when Joey and Rachel started dating and Ross tried to pretend it didn't bother him? Yeah, well, we knew it was killing him inside. We wanted to be happy for Rachel and Joey because Rachel had finally gotten away from Ross, but we can't help but empathize with the poor guy. We've all been in this sort of situation before.
3. The tiniest things can make us irrationally angry.
Ross loved that leftover turkey sandwich, and when someone working at the museum ate half of it and threw the rest of it away, Ross lost his cool. Sure, we all thought he was a little crazy for this, but wouldn't we do the same if we loved that turkey sandwich half as much as he did?
4. Sometimes, we accidentally speak the truth and it bites us in the butt.
This scene was the epitome of secondhand embarrassment. We all wanted to punch Ross in the face for saying the wrong name at his wedding, but, come on, haven't we all let the truth slip before?
5. There are times when we try to be smooth, but we fail miserably.
Watching Ross try to flirt with the police officer made us all uncomfortable, and somehow, this made us hate him even more. Maybe we hated him for this because we've all been there before, trying to be smooth but just seeming really awkward in the process.
6. We all have something we love to talk about that others want us to stop talking about.
Why couldn't Ross ever shut up about dinosaurs? Sadly enough, we've all been there, going on and on about something that seems to bore everyone else.
7. Sometimes, we just assume people are on our level.
No, Ross. Not everyone read "Lord of the Rings" in high school. We kind of want to punch you in the face for acting so pretentious. But hey, we're all guilty of acting like we're the best of the best sometimes.
Ross Geller, we may hate you at your worst, but we understand you and thank you for making us realize that being human isn't always glamorous.
