7 Things To Do When Your Roommate Leaves Town For The Weekend

There comes a time in every roommate relationship when one roommate decides to go home for the weekend, leaving the other roommate left alone with the entire house/apartment/dorm to yourself. As your roommate begins to pack, you immediately begin to think about all the things you can do now that you have some alone time. Here are seen things you can do when your roommate leaves town for the weekend.

1. Walk around in your birthday suit.

Yes, typically, it’s quite normal for you and your roommate to walk around with no pants on without any shame, but walking around naked is pushing it. With your roommate gone for the weekend, it’s perfectly okay to air dry after your shower.

2. Leave your stuff where you please.

With a roommate, it’s always polite (and socially expected) to clean up after yourself, but after a while, it gets pretty exhausting to constantly keep all your things nice and neat. Eventually, all you want to do is be able to walk in, throw your backpack on the floor, kick your shoes off at different corners of the living room, and leave your empty water bottles wherever you like without worrying about making your roommate angry. Well, go for it, because whatever your roommate doesn’t know won’t hurt them.

3. Clean up your mess.

With that being said, you do eventually have to frantically clean up, because your roommate is an hour away from coming home, and you don’t want her to know you turned the house into your own personal storage room for the weekend.

4. Blast your music and choreograph your own music video.

Now that your roommate is gone, you can listen to any song that you want without having to be asked to turn it down. Whatever your guilty pleasure song may be, go ahead blast your music and dance out every dance move you know.

5. Order an entire pizza just for yourself.

This might be a normal thing for some people, but what is usually the problem is when your roommate reminds you that you’re trying to lose weight. Now, with your roommate out of the picture, you can finally be alone with your pizza without having to share and hear your roommate telling you to put down that fourth slice.

6. Take the longest shower you've ever taken.

This may only apply to those who have to share a shower with their roommate, but when you finally get the bathroom to yourself, you can take an hour long shower without worrying if there is any hot water left for your roomie.

7. Wait for your roommate to come home.

Yes, being alone for the weekend can be a good time, but it also gets pretty lonely. Come Sunday, your roommate will be home, and you’ll once again have someone to ignore responsibilities with.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
