I'll be the first to admit how nice it is to take a break every once and a while, but when it means leaving Athens for almost a month, the relaxation becomes a bit excessive. I love reuniting with my dog, my friends, and of course my family, but after so long, I begin to miss the hustle and bustle of Ohio University.
1. The familiar smells of Court Street.
From the greasy fryers ablaze at Wendy's to the enticing smell of fresh chicken 'n waffles, we all miss these iconic drunk foods after a great night out.
2. Dancing the night away.
There's nothing I miss more than whipping and dabbing to some Justin Bieber or Fetty Wap at a good old fashion Athens dance party (or the bars).
3. Going to class... yes, I really just said that.
I know it might sound crazy but after being home for so long, constantly binge-watching Netflix gets a little boring. It's never fun, but at least class makes us feel like we're doing something productive.
4. Sweet, sweet freedom!
I love my mom and all but going from being my own adult at school to moving back in with helicopter parents makes coming back to OU that much more relieving.
5. Reuniting with your college besties.
Go best friend. That's my best friend.
6. Bricks, bricks, bricks.
There's just something special about the sound of car tires on bricks.
7. Being in the best place on Earth.
You may miss the food or the people but it's all found under one roof – Ohio University. Welcome back Bobcats!
