We've all been home now for awhile to enjoy our summer vacation. It's a time to get away from college dorms, college showers and college food. A time to get our tan on, get some home-cooked meals, sleep in a nice comfy bed, see our friends and shower without shower shoes. But I have got to admit I miss college life, especially my college friends. We spent almost an entire year together, getting to know one another, create memories and basically live with each other every day. But our time had to end and we all had to say our goodbyes and see you soon. The summer is great but sometimes we miss having our college friends around and being at college. Being home is great but that doesn't mean I don't miss my home away from home and the people there.

1. I miss having someone to hang out with every day.

I miss that you're only a text or phone call away. I loved being able to shoot you a text so that we could go study (which was always a lie) or grab some coffee and just hang out and have some fun. I miss seeing you every day and just knowing you are there when I need you.

2. Missing our breakfast, lunch and dinner dates.

I miss having you there to go eat with. Being home, waking up and then realizing I can't text you to come with me to get some breakfast is the worst. I miss all of us setting a time for lunch or dinner. I miss bugging you guys at breakfast about what time dinner was because I was always hungry and ready to eat.

3. Going to your room whenever I was bored.

My dorm room is your dorm room. We are always welcomed at each other's room. I miss barging into your room whenever I had something crazy to tell you. From passing or failing a test to telling you some crazy news, I loved coming in and telling you everything. I love us screaming or jumping with joy while people on our floor yell at us to shut up.

4. I miss our shower parties.

We have such a special bond that we can all shower at the same time and jam out to music, even if most of the time it is by accident. I miss singing to Adele and Beyonce in the showers, having our morning pep talks and just telling each other stories. This is something I just can't do at home.

5. Having you there to help me choose my outfit.

From a normal day of classes to a crazy weekend, you were always there to help me with my outfit. I can always go to you to make sure I am looking my best. I love having more than one closet because we would just share our clothes, makeup and shoes. Now I'm stuck snapchatting you my outfits for the day and hoping you'll snapchat back in time before I leave the house.

6. Doing spontaneous things at night.

From walking around town and grabbing coffee and food to just hanging out and doing random things. I always had fun being with you and creating some great memories. We were always up for anything at any time. I miss our Denny's dates and Wal-Mart runs. Our random pizza runs when we were hungry, which was always, was also a favorite.

7. Dance and singing parties.

From before a weekend of going out to a normal day of the week, we could always just hang and jam out to some music and have fun. No matter what we are doing, when we are together we have a fun time. From singing "Hello" by Adele or dancing to "One Dance" we always find time for each other and have great laughs.

I miss you! Each day is a day closer to us being reunited! I can't wait to have more fun and create more memories. Having you there for me in college is the greatest thing ever. Thankfully, the school year will start again soon so we can do it all over again!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
