Unless you're superhuman, you most likely have fallen victim to procrastination at least some point this summer, and, inevitably, even the fun stuff gets put off and forgotten. The time to dream up fun adventures for the summer is gone. Now, it's go time. Get ready for the best two-week summer of your life, kids.
1. Go on a road trip
Grab some of your best friends, stock up on your favorite snacks, and hit the road. There's no better way to end the summer than driving towards your next adventure with the windows down and the radio music blaring. Whether it's venturing across the country, or just taking a quick trip to the nearest beach, there's still time to do something that makes your summer something special.
2. Binge-watch a show everyone talks about
You've been in the dark for long enough, and your couch is waiting for you. Quit bumming around your house and get to work watching T.V!
3. Reconnect with an old friend
You know the one person you've put off hanging out with? Summer is almost over, and let's face it, you're not getting any younger. Who knows where you'll both be next summer! If maintaining a relationship with this person is important to you, you're rapidly approaching "now or never" territory.
4. Meet someone new
As small as your hometown, or as empty as the campus, might be, odds are you still haven't met everyone. Camp out at your favorite coffee shop or even chat up the person behind you in line at the grocery store (anything but Tinder, really). Who knows? Maybe this person will join you on some more summer bucket-list adventures.
5. Get a jump start on next semester's course work
I'm sorry, the joke was painful for me, too.
6. Go skydiving
In the words of Shia Leboueff, "Just do it." Don't let your dreams be dreams, yesterday you said tomorrow and yadda yadda. Google it, sign up for it, and take the plunge. Just don't look down until you're already out of the plane and hurdling down towards the earth.
7. Go stargazing
Nothing says summer like staring up into the night sky while being eaten alive by mosquitos. While this one definitely takes the cake for a cliche, it's actually really cool. Plus, it only takes one clear night to cross this one off. Bonus points if you watch the eclipse on August 21st, too.
