1) Learn to accept yourself
Fully and wholeheartedly. You are who you are, and in this very moment there is no one who can mirror yourself just the way you can.
2. Pamper yourself
I'm not saying go crazy and spend your spring tuition on whatever it is Kanye West is selling these days, but do something nice for yourself. Get your hair cut, buy a face mask from Walmart, paint your nails your favorite color and remember that you are worth taking care of.
3. Read a self-help book
Whatever it is you are struggling with, you can find your answer in a Barnes and Noble. Whether you want to conquer anxiety or get over a bad relationship, you would be amazed on how your mindset can change after learning the root of yourself. Whatever it is you are dealing with, there is someone else out there who has struggled in the same way and conquered it. We're lucky enough to learn from their hardship.
4. Make a new playlist
Whether you listen to music on your morning jog or your way to work, by having your favorite songs at your disposal you could potentially turn your whole day around. It is clinically proven that the music we listen to has a MAJOR effect on our emotions. Re-evaluate whether or not the music you listen to is helping you or hurting you, lift yourself up and create playlists that inspire the inner Beyoncé in you. It's also a wonderful distraction.
5. Start eating breakfast
Not only is breakfast food crazy delicious, it can promote attentiveness, weight loss and overall you just feel like you have your life together. Whole grain toast has a way of making you feel like one of those people who wakes up before the sunrise to do yoga or something.
6. Buy yourself a water bottle
You would be AMAZED by the difference just having a Camelbak has had on my physical health. It's difficult to get a proper amount of water with a busy schedule, but regardless it is important. Set goals to drink more per each day until it becomes a second nature. Not only does dehydration lead to serious health problems but getting your daily amount of water can also limit the amount you bloat and prevents acne while promoting a youthful appearance. Who doesn’t love that?
7. Clean your room/living space
You know what they say, a cluttered desk a cluttered mind and I believe that to be the absolute truth. Just the act of cleaning can get you up and moving, as well motivate you to do the homework you’ve been promising yourself you'd finish since 1872.
All in all, learn to be the best possible you. Spend a little extra time getting ready in the morning. Put the phone down for a few hours and read a novel you will enjoy and maybe learn something from. Find the time to do the things in life that are the most important to you. Remember to stand tall, set goals for yourself and watch yourself grow. Stay away from anyone or anything standing in the way and you'll be amazed at how far you'll go. You have the same amount of time this year as everyone else, choose to spend yours loving yourself.
