7 Stages Of Procrastionation

We've all been down this road.

7 Stages Of Procrastionation

Let's all face it, we've waited until the last minute to do something. I'll admit it, I've become the queen of procrastination since coming back to school. And we all sit here and we wonder how we got to the point of cramming in a 500-word paper 20 minutest before a class.

Stage 1: Getting the assignment.

You're sitting in class and you're handed the assignment. It could be worth 30 points and it could be worth 85 percent of your grade. You have a plan to do it all on time and to get every freaking point possible.

Stage 2: Not following Plan A

So after you get the assignment you're sitting at your desk in your dorm telling yourself, "I've got this. Just got to start with my schedule I made for the assignment." But...Netflix is just calling your name.

Stage 3: Just one more episode.

It's a few days before your assignment is due but that new show you just started and there's already a huge cliff hanger and then the next episode has a cliff hanger... and then the next...

Stage 4: Realizing you're out of time.

When you glance at the clock and realize that it's two in the morning and the project is due tomorrow.

Stage 5: So you bring out the Keurig

And so starts the all-nighter.

Stage 6: Realizing that your work is actually shit and trying to find a reason to blame anything and everything except yourself.

Don't lie, we all know you do it.

Stage 7: You get your grade back and think to yourself, "This won't happen again."

But it does.

And each and every time we face the battle of actually getting our shit together, we really don't. But let's face it, at least we kind of tried? That deserves a shout out.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
