7 Signs Of Being A Professional Napper

You can never get too much sleep.

7 Signs Of Being A Professional Napper
Alex Kyllonen

Since I have started college, I have truly come to fully understand the gift of sleep. I now have learned to treasure it and get as much of it as I possibly can. Whether this means napping between classes, or *trying* to sleep a full 8 hours per night, I have come to find just how vital sleep is... and through this, I have become a self-proclaimed professional napper, along with much of the college population. If you believe you might fall under the same category, below are seven qualities a professional napper will possess.

1. You schedule all of your plans based around your naps

Every time my friends text me to make plans, I tell them that I can’t promise I will follow through because I might be napping. At least I’m being honest with them.

2. You have several alarms set throughout the day

The risk of not waking up and missing a class, a practice, or another important event is way too likely. But no worries, that's what alarms are for. It's not unusual to have upwards of 5, 6, or even 7 alarms set throughout the day, just to make sure that you are up and ready at any given time for any plans you have for the day!

3. The snooze button is your best friend

Another reason you have several alarms set is because you end up snoozing them probably five times before you actually end up getting out of bed. I know, its hard to get up from under your warm covers, but it has to get done. You got this.

4. It doesn’t matter if you got 8 hours of sleep last night. You’ll still be taking a nap after every class

Experts say sleeping too much just makes you more tired. They’re probably right. But I am okay with that. It gives me more of a reason to sleep

5. If you don’t text your friends back, they automatically assume you were napping

Ah, they know me so well!

6. Your friends know not to bother you when you are taking a nap

Unless they are looking for trouble, they will stay away from you throughout the duration of your nap. Unless there is a natural disaster, they are dying, or there is a dog in the building, go away.

7. One minute makes a difference when it comes to waking up

Yes, I set my alarm for 4:31pm. As weird as it sounds, there is a difference between 4:30pm and 4:31pm, I promise.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
