7 Reasons Dating In Your 20's Is The Worst

You should slow down in the dating area.

Dating in your early 20's is one of the most complex things you are going to experience. With apps such as Tinder and Bumble, you would think it would be an easier way to start a relationship. You're wrong. People now expect different levels of relationships, and the expectancy coming out of them is usually downright awful. Here are the seven following reasons why dating in your 20's is the worst.

1. Unreturned feelings

With apps like Tinder, it's easy to see why people think they are going to find relationships on them. Personally, I'm looking to stay single. So when I use Tinder, I use it for pure entertainment. I've come across guys who are either looking to be in serious relationships or just a simple hook up. Exactly what I'm NOT looking for.

2. Family scoldings

Nothing better than having Thanksgiving with your family to only hear, "How's the dating life going?", or "Still single, huh?" Wrong.

3. Terrible first dates

I have gone on a handful of terrible dates in the last few months, and first impressions most definitely matter. Please, men, do not pull out a vape in the middle of a movie theatre to blow O's of cotton candy and get us kicked out. This is a real thing.

4. Meeting the family

A boy who I dated for a few short months brought me to meet his mom without letting either one of us know. Talk about awkward when meeting a boy's mother while you're dressed like you just came from a Cardi B concert. Please give your significant other a heads-up in advance.

5. 50 shades of getting to know someone

The first few weeks are what I call the "nonexistent weeks" because you really do not know the person. Don't jump into a relationship after knowing someone for a short period of time. Giving someone a title and then seeing their true colors is something you want to avoid.

6. Being someone you're not

As stated in #5, we really do fake it. I try telling guys I have an attitude problem and they brush it off their shoulders and say "that's cute" and then have the audacity to tell me I have an attitude problem a few months later. Don't fool people by acting like something you're not.

7. Starting over

The odds that you will have a stable long relationship in your early 20's is very low. The chances are you're going meet many Mr. Rights before you are even ready to settle down. Starting over sucks, but it is all part of the horrible thing we call "dating in our 20's".
