7 Reasons Why Blair Waldorf Is Perfect

If you spent any time watching Gossip Girl, it's almost guaranteed that Blair Waldorf is your spirit animal. Blair was, and is, everything. An ice queen with a heart of gold, who's terrifying, intimidating, and oozes absolute perfection. If you mess with her, she will haunt your dreams. Who wouldn't want to embody Blair? She lives a New York City life even more glamorous than Taylor Swift's, and she transformed the hopeless Chuck Bass. If Blair's your spirit animal, it's more than likely that you wear headbands, you have an obsession with all things NYC, and you spend long periods of time devoted to finding a Chuck Bass of your own (luckily, The Empire Hotel is real, so your dreams can actually become a reality).

Queen B had her dark moments -- that pregnancy scare in season one -- but the Queen of Scheme taught me everything I needed to know about being a real strong woman. While it is true that her outbursts of sass often got her into trouble, Blair always had the best intentions, and when it came to manipulative plotting there no one did it better.

1) Blair knew best friends were forever.

No matter how many times her and Serena fought, they always found a way to fix things. I strive to find my Serena in life.

2) She knew she was fabulous and owned it.

It didn't matter who insulted her, or wrote terrible things about her on Gossip Girl, she always kept her head held high. As she once said, “I have to present myself as a crown jewel, surrounded by other, smaller, slightly flawed gems -- but quality stones, nonetheless."

3) She understood the importance of an impromptu shopping spree.

Who needs to pay for actual therapy when you could pay for retail therapy? Unfortunately, all of the shopping in the world couldn't erase the fact that she dated Lonely Boy from her memory. Now you know why her hair's so big because it's full of secrets.

4) She worked hard for everything.

I mean, obviously Blair was born blessed, but that doesn't mean she didn't hustle for everything she had. Unlike Serena, who had everything handed to her on a platinum platter, Blair plotted and schemed to make sure everything always went her way. You could call her a control freak, but I prefer “driven," personally. After all, being driven is the only way to guarantee that you have minions, and they're the perfect people to surround you at all times.

5) She speaks the truth.

Blair knows that money does buy you happiness, because it means a closet packed with fine clothing. As a broke college student, I feel sure that all of the dollars in the world would make life in the Upper East Side beyond fabulous (a girl can dream right?). Blair knew, and she had the perfect accessories to prove it. Have you seen that girl's headband collection?

6) She's just everything.

Blair Waldorf just gets it. She's tough as nails, super glam, and has a ton of feelings, even if she refuses to show them. She's like a modern-day Scarlett O'Hara who actually gets the guy in the end. She is materialistic, uppity, but certainly aspirational.

7) She married Chuck Bass.

She singlehandedly turned a bad boy into the boyfriend we all want and will never have. They might have had their rough patches throughout the years, but no matter what was going on, we all knew they had to end up together. Once they finally figured out how to channel their powers of manipulation, together and for the good of humanity, they became the ultimate power couple that no one can top.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
