Since the 2016 is ending it may be time for you to close some doors and walk away. Here are seven reasons indicating you know it’s time to leave or maybe reasons to write your New Year’s resolution about walking away.
1. You just don’t want to do it anymore
A reason why you should not leave: you want to stay. Whether it is your relationship or a job, if you lose passion and you no longer feel purpose when you are putting forth effort, then you are probably already admitting to yourself that you simply do not want to do it anymore.
2. You are not doing it for yourself
If you are obligated to stay, as in legally obligated, then you should. However, your happiness is important. To be honest, there is not a huge difference between this reason and the aforementioned. You have to want to do something and have a personal interest in seeing the success of what you are doing to do it well. Everything that you do affects you directly. Even when you are helping a friend or doing something selfless, there is some positive emotion that encourages you to stay. If the positive emotion is no longer there, leave.
3. People who care about you have suggested leaving
If your loved ones are worried about your well being, then you should consider what they have to say. The people who care about you probably know you well enough to know when they need to express their concerns.
4. You think these people are right
If you think your loved ones have rational reasons for suggesting that you should leave and you want to leave, then stop waiting and start leaving.
5. You have thought about the pros of leaving
Pep talk: leaving is not synonymous with quitting. Remember to give yourself credit for trying. That being said, there are pros and cons to every situation. If you have considered the benefits of leaving and the benefits outweigh the cons, then that is a very good reason to say goodbye.
6. You feel like the world is sending you signals
