7 Reasons To Still Be Hyped For Warped Tour

Last year's Warped Tour lineup brought pandemonium. Going down the list, seeing each band name made you pinch yourself because there was no way it was real life. With headliners like Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, Tonight Alive, and even Newfound Glory, it was surreal. It was like Oprah walked in and said, “You get your favorite band! You get your favorite band!”. Your only fear was that two of your favorites were performing at the same time (which probably did end up happening).

Warped 2016 was a year to remember, but this year's felt more like an April Fool's prank in its wake. With the bands all listed in the same size font, headliners aren't clear and you probably had to look through a few times to pick out the bands you know. We probably were expecting last year to repeat itself. We have a one track mind, what about it?

With summer approaching, let's get it together. Warped is the one day in the entire year where music lovers of the best genre unite. That's a blessing in itself to be surrounded by people who just get it. Not to mention having an array of incredible music at every turn. It's always been a summer paradise and this year won't be an exception. Here are seven reasons to feel the hype:

1. Let's mosh like it's 1985

With Bowling For Soup! Of course we all know this one despite not

being alive in 1985. But, most haven't actually heard it live. If you're lucky to have these dudes at your tour date, let the rest of us know how much fun you had and share your vids!

2. Don't be basic

While you may not recognize most of the bands, don't count them out! Remember when you heard your favorite band for the first time? If you're like me, you probably hated them before proceeding to download/save every song they ever made and like anything they ever touched on social media. You may have also said that their tunes “ain't half bad.” Every band has a journey. Join them in the fun!

3. We don't have to dance...

But who wouldn't when Andy Biersack is touring all summer!? If Warped had a Homecoming King, Andy would have to wear that crown. He's been a part of Warped for years along with Juliet Simms and Black Veil Brides, loving every minute of it. Now he'll be rocking stages as Andy Black! It's a perfect opportunity to see him if you missed his debut tour with celebrating his "Homecoming" (album).

4. "My brand!"

Did someone say new Vans? Step up your wardrobe with Warped, authentic souveniers and merch. Stock up on new band shirts and soak in that new black t scent. Don't forget about all of the freebies! As the saying goes, “if it's free, it's for me.”

Plus, check out all of the non-profit organizations attending, including Action for Animals, Hope for the Day, and Music Saves Lives.

5. Let's make like Attila, and open the pit up

Starting a mosh pit at prom or even homecoming is easier said than done. Take advantage of the day and catch up on your cardio. Attila will be present, so you can expect the pit to be open during the entirety of their set. Bonus points for flying objects.

6. It's a summer paradise.

Yes, summer is a hot time. Especially if you're coming out of the pit. Remember when that sounded so appealing in January? Well, YOLO, as the kids say. I say, end Warped on a cool note by continuing the party in the pool when you get back. Or better yet, if your venue is close to the beach, take advantage!

7. Friends?

Don't forget the most important part of the festival! Just think: a venue where everyone likes the same genre of music and is totally chill. What a time to be alive! With so much in common already, strangers become fam(iliar) real fast. Pile all of your best buds in the car and get ready to have a blast.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and get your tickets!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
