No seriously, he rocks.

7 Reasons My Brother Is The Greatest

There's a love/hate relationship between almost all siblings. You get mad at each other just like you would anyone else. But, the bond I have with my older brother is filled with much more love and very little hate. He is truly the greatest, and here's why:

1. He has been my best friend from the very beginning.

No doubt he thought I was as annoying as could be sometimes. My constant desire to be around him, whether he had friends over or not, did not go unnoticed. But he also never made me feel like I wasn't welcome. He has been the friend that never gave up on me.

2. He's honest with me, even if I don't want to hear it.

He's willing to give me advice whenever I need it. He's also willing to be completely honest with me, even if it's not what I want to hear.

3. He has always been there, ready to kick someone's butt when they did me wrong.

Never afraid to tell me I'm wrong, and never afraid to stand up for me when someone hurt me. There have been times where he made it very clear that messing with me meant messing with him. And any of that made him more than upset.

4. He taught me how a girl should be treated by a man.

He always treats me with respect, and he also treats the women, or anyone really, with respect. He taught me that if I'm not being respected by someone they are not worth my time.

5. He supports me in everything I do.

No matter my goals, no matter my ideas, he has always been my support. Between switching school to choosing a career, he's been there every step of the way.

6. He encourages me to have fun.

Although he highly recommends doing the best I can at school, he also reminds me to save some time for fun and relaxation. That it's possible to go out with friends and still have time to get work done.

7. He reminds me that little upsets are not the end of the world.

He'll listen to my emotional rants and reassure me that things get better. When I'm having a tough time he's there to help me out and keep me sane.

Basically, he rocks.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
