7 Phases Of Family Visiting You In College

With family visits and special weekends for parents to come see you, there is a range of emotions each person goes through. There is not quite anything else when family gets to visit and sees how and where you spend your days. You get to show them your home and share with them all your favorite places. Along with getting to catch up and appreciating their company. I look forward to family visiting every time and my only wish is that the visit could last longer. Heres the range of emotions I go through every time:

1. Super over excited feelings begin.

You probably spent all week just thinking about all the fun things you get to do with your family. This week took forever to get by!

2. CLEAN EVERTHING!

You want to impress the family with where you live. You and your housemates/roommates will scrub everything till its sparkly! Your family can't know of the slobs you really are.

3. Tackling them with love.

There is nothing like a reunion with the people you love! Nothing beats a hug from your parents or other family members. You cannot contain your love once you see them.

4. Shopping!!

ONE OF THIS AND ONE OF THIS AND EVERYTHING ELSE! Grocery shopping and buying new clothes is exactly what you needed. Now you can stop eating quesadillas and wearing your worn out shoes for once!

5. Eating great food

Having your family down means taking them to all your favorite food places and keeping all the leftovers! Nothing beats that.

6. Showing them around

You may be in a shoebox apartment, tiny dorm, or old house but you are damn proud of it! Whatever it is, it always fun to show your fam around the new place you call home.

7. Not wanting to say bye

Once your family leaves then that means back to reality of school and stress and paying for everything on your own. Also means you won't see your family for a little bit. They leave but both you and them can't wait for the next time to see each other!

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
