With the internet in full swing and many millenials not even watching traditional media anymore, we have taken to alternative means of getting our own sources of entertainment. One of the easist and affordable being YouTube videos. As of today, there are over one billion users on YouTube; that's 1/3 of the internet. So I'm here to share with you seven of my personal favorite users.
1. Philip Defranco
Phil has a news channel that has the perfect balance of pop culture, world events, and comedy. He manages to be unbiased while giving information on laws and how the public perceives the world. He posts informative videos Monday-Thursday, and Friday-Sunday he does funny skits and interviews. He has been a long-standing presence in the YouTube community.
2.Screen Rant
https://www.reddit.com/r/ScreenRant/
Screen Rant tells you all of the movie facts and behind-the-scenes secrets. Everyone loves to watch some sort of movie or TV show, and who doesn't like to know what we don't see on the big screen?
3. BuzzFeed Video
https://www.youtube.com/user/BuzzFeedVideo
BuzzFeed is a powerhouse on the internet. From their websites to countless YouTube video segments like all of the tasty videos you find on Facebook, People Try, Ladylike, Try Guys and many more. These videos can consume hours and hours of your life, yet in the end you enjoyed all of the hours.
4. Game Theory
http://game-theory.wikia.com/wiki/Matthew_Patrick
This channel is all about making physics and math fun! I know that sounds crazy and impossible, but it is all too true! He takes things such as the leap of faith from Assassins Creed and the mental state of Mario from Mario Brothers. He always shows how these fictional scenarios would play out in the real world. Whether you are an avid gamer or just a casual Mario Kart player, the way MatPat presents his knowledge is so entertaining and informational.
5. People Be Like
http://revision3.com/sourcefed/internet-hosts-be-l...
Millennials and Generation Y kids (like myself) are so ingrained with the media and electronics. William Haynes is a perfect representation of Gen Y and millennials. He talks about the social issues that happen on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc. He talks about issues that news reporters in their 40s would just brush off as trash when they really delve deep into our young adult lives.
6. Casey Neistat
https://www.youtube.com/user/caseyneistat
Casey Neistat isn't your normal vlogger; he takes vlogging to a whole new level. He has done some crazy stunts that have sparked his fame and only made his channel grow more. His most viewed video, "Make It Count," has almost 19 million views! 19 million! He is changing the vlogging game. He only has 4 million subscribers, which sounds like a lot, but for the quality of his videos he delivers so much more.
7. Last Week Tonight
https://twitter.com/lastweektonight
HBO can be an expensive video streaming service, so thankfully one of my favorite creators on the whole network puts his main stories on this YouTube channel. His news puts everything out into the open. Whether his story is on immigration, the presidential election, or foreign policy, you will walk away from the show more involved with the world and more intelligent in the affairs that go on around the world.
Now that I have presented all of these amazing creators, go show their channels some love because out of the 1 billion people, some of them shine so bright and deserve to be recognized.
