Every girl should have a girl gang, a group of female friends that support each other and have fun together. On my quest to find examples of what a girl gang should be, I noticed something. There are not enough of them represented in pop culture and the media. There are far more famous guy groups, and many of the girl gangs that are in the public eye are shown as catty or tearing each other down. It's disappointing that groups of girls are so often depicted with these stereotypes, perpetuating them. However, there is growing hope for the girl gang. Below are examples of badass girl gangs that will inspire you and your crew.
1. Destiny's Child
This group sent an important message to all fellow ladies with the song "Independent Woman". Even though they are now broken up, all went on to have successful lives and still support each other.
2. The Powerpuff Girls
The Powerpuff Girls are some the roughest and toughest ladies in the world of cartoons. They are always saving their city from villains, and best of all they teach young girls that they can be super heroes too.
3.The Spice Girls
If you want to be a Spice Girl's lover, you gotta get with their friends. These gals value their friendship more than anything.
4. The Barden Bellas
Although they didn't get along at first, the women of "Pitch Perfect" came to together to be the first all girl group to win the national acapella championship and found a sisterhood along the way.
5. The Rockford Peaches
These girls teamed up in "A League of Their Own" to show everyone that women can do anything men can do, especially those who dispute that they cannot.
6. Charlie's Angels
The angel's have each other's backs and are always ready to kick some ass together. Girl power at its finest.
7. The Supremes
The Supremes are a classic girl gang that has inspired so many that have come after them, including our first group on the list. They showed that any woman can do anything she sets her mind to.
