7 Emotional Stages After A Concert

A concert is more than listening to music. It is an emotional experience, a memory-making machine, and a time to sing a duet with your favorite artist. You’ve got that special person or your best friend by your side and nothing can or will get you down. You’re dancing and singing and feeling as if you are on top of the world, wanting this moment to never end. But then it does, and you’re feeling pretty emotional about it. Here are some of the stages you might go through after the best concert to grace this earth comes to an end.

Amazement

You are speechless at how amazing the concert you were just graced to witness was. You are standing in the moment and soaking it all in with awe on your face. This will forever be the best concert you have been to (until the next amazing concert you go to).

Denial

You are yelling encore as loud as you can even though you have little to no voice left. You can’t comprehend that the concert is over and you will do whatever it takes for it not to be.

Regret

Those cowboy boots you put on nine hours before seemed like such a good idea then, but that long walk back to the car with a blister the size of Texas on your foot is making you rethink all of your life decisions.

Remembering

You are singing your favorite songs of the night and reliving moments of the night by giving your friend a detailed story of events even though they were three inches from you the entire night. You don’t even care who hears you; you just need to let anyone and everyone know how amazing that concert was.

Sentimental

You get to the car, roll the windows down and play the beautiful music you just experience for hours. You sing along at the top of your lungs and letting all the feels of that concert flow over you.

Pride

You and your friends took about 300 pictures and it is time to show them off to the world. That Instagram caption better be punny and clever. You must put it on Facebook for your mom to see, and you might want to apologize to your Snapchat followers for your hour-long snap story. You just had a life changing experience. Show it off.

Acceptance

It’s 2 a.m. and you’re about to pass out from exhaustion but you have to look through the pictures and videos one more time to relive it before the night is officially over. You have finally accepted that the concert is over and you are already finding the next city you can see them in.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
