As much as we all want to have a productive and outgoing summer, Netflix is constantly calling our names. It is set up on our laptops, televisions, and smart phones. Netflix is ready to go whenever plans are cancelled or when plans are not even made. It is our best friend when you need to cry, laugh, scream, or smile. But this summer is the summer of sun and laughter. Which is why I believe that comedy shows are the only genre of shows people should be binge watching. Take a break from those medical and crime shows that break your heart every episode. Grab a cool lemonade and enjoy these hilarious funny shows that Netflix has provided:
1. NBC's "Parks and Recreation"
Two words: Leslie Knope. The show is surrounded by this hardworking government employee that works in the Indiana Parks and Recreation Department. The 7 season show ended just last year and it contains amusing characters that everyone can easily relate to. Before you know it, you will be telling your friends, "I am feeling a bit like Andy right now" or "It is a April kind of day." Amy Poehler is one funny leading lady that lets no fans down.
2. Freeform's "Baby Daddy"
This 5 season show is one that you will not realize when you get to season 2 because of its quirky and fast paced comedy. The show is about a 20 something year old man named Ben who is surprised with a baby girl from his ex-girlfriend. The ex leaves him and his best friend Tucker with the baby in front of their apartment and his life is changed forever. The show has a crazy mom, a hot hockey player (Ben's older brother), a love triangle among brothers, and did I mention a hot hockey player? Give this show a shot you won't regret it.
3. FOX's "New Girl"
This sitcom show is anything but dull. It deals with certain serious aspects like losing a job, not getting a job, and letting a love one go. But it is mostly laughs and good times. This show is for FRIENDS fans who love to watch a group of "adults" trying to get their lives together but instead of girls living with girls and guys with guys. This show is about a single grade school teacher moving in with 3 single guys. That can't lead to anything good right?
4. Freeform's "Young & Hungry"

5. NBC's "The Office"
This 9 season classic sitcom is loved by many with its out of this world characters like Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute. I wish I could explain this show in more detail except you just have to watch it. Watch it for Pam and Jim (goals!). Watch it for all those friends of yours that have already told you to watch it.
6. CBS's "How I Met Your Mother"
Do not listen to people when they tell you the ending disappointed them. This show is a MUST. Not going to lie, it is a pretty long show which contain some hefty but hilarious story lines. But it is worth it. This show brings out tears from both laughter and sadness. It is surrounded by a group of friends in New York City, that include a Mr. Ted Mosby. The show is about him speaking to his two children about (yes, you guessed it) how he met their mother.
7. FOX's "That 70's Show"
Another sitcom classic one could say about this 8 season show. If the 70s is one of your favorite genre's and you want to see a young Ashton Kutcher this is the show for you. The series is about a group of friends on their way to adulthood and making all the mistakes they could possibly make. They live in the suburbs of Wisconsin grow up before our eyes. The show is hilariously written and is a must for all those yearning some independence from mom and dad.
There is many more comedy shows on Netflix worthy of binge- watching but the list can only be so long. An example is, "FRIENDS" should definitely be on it but my point is that endless laughter is only a click away if you decide to stay in one night this summer.
