Throughout your lifetime, you may struggle with a feeling of uncertainty. You may not know where your life is going to take you or even where you want it to take you. This uncertainty may cause feelings of anxiety and stress to creep into your heart. You may start to lose your faith, but God will never lose you. He will always be with you, even if you do not feel like He is there. At times like these, my mother will send me prayers and bible verses to get me through the day.
Here are seven Bible verses to remind you that even though you may feel lost, God has you in the palm of His hand.
1. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
I know that when you feel lost, it is hard to be strong and courageous but, take heart; you do not have to be strong and courageous by yourself. God is with you, no matter where you go. No matter the decisions or choices you make, Jesus will never forsake you. He knows what it is like to feel lost and alone. He endured those feelings when He went through the crucifixion for each and every one of us. However, at the end, He beat death with His Father’s help. Just like He will help you beat whatever you are facing.
2. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I know, trust is hard. It is hard to trust in God when it feels like
nothing is going how you planned—when you look around and it seems like
everyone else has their life figured out and your life is falling apart.
However, from experience, I know that what I think are negative experiences may
be blessings in disguise. It is hard to see it now, and it may be hard to see
it ten years from now. However, just know, God has it figured out, just trust
Him and go to sleep. It will be alright through Him.
3. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'" (Jeremiah 29:11)
God has a plan? This may be hard to believe after everything in
your life seems to be falling apart. What is His plan after you have studied a
total of 40 hours on a test, just to receive a low grade? When every day you
have been getting into fights with your boyfriend, and you snapped at your mom
on the phone because you are stressed. How could this be a part of God’s
prosperous plans? I know it is hard to see right now, but God has a plan for
you that is even better than your plan. I know it is hard to see, and it may be
hard to see for a while, but His plans are far better than anything you can imagine. So, don’t lose the faith. If path A doesn’t work, take path B, take
path C or even path F. If path A doesn’t work, you have 25 more paths you can
take. God is bringing you to the right path to give you blessings that you
cannot even imagine right now. He might be saving you from being in the wrong
career, or with the wrong man. He may even be teaching you something. As my
mom always says, “Don’t ever be upset when you leave later than you plan,
because God may have been saving you from an accident.” This rule applies to
the paths your life takes as well.
4. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34)
I know, not worrying about tomorrow may seem like an impossible task. It
is okay to worry, but it is not okay to worry so much that it starts effecting
how you live or your health. Worrying does not change anything, no matter how
much we wish it did. However, you can use that worry about tomorrow to help you
live life to the fullest today. Use that worry to not procrastinate or to tell your
loved ones that you love them. Worrying about tomorrow so much that you forget
to live your life today, is sometimes worse than the most terrible thing you
can be worried about. God has you. He will take care of all of your todays and
tomorrows. Trust in His plan for you.
5. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Life is not always easy. Sometimes going through your daily routine can
be stressful. Sometimes you may not feel like getting out of bed. Jesus knows
what it is like to be tired. He was tired when He was carrying the cross. He
even fell down, and needed help to get back up. Whenever you feel like your
burden is too much, do not be afraid to ask for help. Your friends, your
family, and God will be there to ease your burden. You will never be alone.
Jesus will always take your burden from you, all you have to do is ask, and
trust in Him.
6. "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" (Matthew 19:26)
My mom likes to remind me of this every time I take a test. Well, she likes to remind me of this anytime I text her at 2 a.a. about something I am worried about. You know what? She's right. Sometimes I cannot do things on my own, but with God, anything is possible. No matter how bad a situation is, God can get me through it. No matter how awful your situation may seem, just remember, Jesus conquered death. He can conquer anything you throw at him. That's why He put in "Do not be afraid" 365 times in the bible. He wanted you to know that He has all the days of the year covered.
7. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
Through all of this, I have learned to have peace. Peace is a beautiful thing. Just remember no matter how confused you are, no matter if you do not know exactly where your life is taking you, God has you. He looked at this world and decided the world needed you. He doesn't want you to live your life in fear of what is to come. He wants you to enjoy living, to have peace knowing He is always taking care of you.
Always remember if plan A doesn't work out, there are 25 other letters out there to make a plan.
