Autumn is finally here (according to the abundance of pumpkin spice lattes), and with that comes boots, scarves and jackets (what I like to call "cuddle weather"). We all know what that means: FALL DATES. 

If you've been looking for new things to do with your other half, look no further. Here are seven seasonal, affordable fall dates in Waco.

1. Visit the pumpkin patch. 

Obviously this is No. 1 because what says, "I love bae" like a pic together sitting on a haystack holding pumpkins. Luckily for Waco, Central Christian Church hosts an annual patch from 10 a.m.-dark, Sept. 27-Oct. 31.

2. Carve pumpkins.

Now that you visited the pumpkin patch and chosen the perfect oversized squash, why not make a second date out of carving it? Nothing screams “romantic” like digging gooey pulp and seeds out of a pumpkin. You could even invite another couple over for a carving competition! 

3. Hay Ride at Homestead Heritage.

Picture this: you’re cuddled up with your crush, wearing a scarf and cowboy boots, wrapped in a flannel blanket while sipping a pumpkin spice latte -- all in the back of a horse drawn trailer. Sic ’em fall in Texas. This is also a perfect double (triple, quadruple?) date. Maybe even bring your hipster, singer-songwriter friend to play some tunes on his guitar.

…And don’t forget to eat at Café Homestead. You can eat inside or take it out for a picnic! If you’ve never experienced their incredible food, well, then I just feel sorry for you. 

4. Watch a scary movie. 

There is literally no better excuse for a cuddle sesh than watching a scary movie. You can wear your sweats, throw your hair on top of your head and just be comfy. One of the biggest scary movie date perks is, for girls, that it's perfectly acceptable to hide your face in your boy’s chest any time someone pops out of nowhere on the screen. For guys, you have every reason in the world to make that move you've been waiting for on your girl. She's too scared to read into it right now, and trust me, she wants the comfort. Don’t forget to make fall-inspired popcorn!

5. Outdoor Adventure. 

Now that it’s finally sweater weather, ride a scooter together out to Cameron Park. If you don’t have one, borrow a friend’s scooter or rent a tandem bike. You can pack a picnic basket with your favorite (home-cooked or takeout) meal, a football, a Frisbee, a blanket and, of course, a hammock. What else in this world could you possibly need?

6. The Farmer's Market.

Located on the left of University Parks overlooking the Brazos rests Waco’s greatest Saturday morning gem. Crepes, cappuccinos, breakfast burritos and more iconic Waco food make the perfect date brunch. Once you grab your food, you can snag a picnic table or eat by the river while a local band plays in the background. If you have a dog, this is the perfect time to bring him along as your third wheel. 

7. Eat, Drink and be Merry! 

Fall is the best time of the year for cooking and baking. You can’t go wrong with hot cider on the stove, pumpkin pie in the oven and music in the background. Start with bourbon apple cider (if you’re 21) to sip on while y’all whip up a new recipe. Cooking with your date is not only hilarious, but it’s a great way to make something together that you can sit down and share later. Don’t forget to embrace the prime flirting opportunities that come from baking (i.e. throwing flour at your boy when he playfully makes fun of you and/or sneaking up while he’s working and hugging him from behind).
