6 Underrated Spring Break Vacation Spots

When you think of spring break, most people think of epic parties on the beach. People just normally think beach in general, but if you're not into that, I have a few places you can start planning to visit next spring break that most people overlook.

1. Mall of America, Bloomington Minnesota

If you're anything like me, shopping is your ideal type of break from classes. Now imagine three floors totaling over 520 stores, all in one convenient mall. It's the ultimate treat yo' self vacation spot, also with a theme park in the center of the mall.

2. Kansas City, Missouri

Kansas City is another ideal shopping location, with Crown Center and Country Club Plaza. Kansas City also has an aquarium in Crown Center and a local Zoo.

3. Chicago, Illinois

Chicago is home of Navy Pier that's filled with rides and stores all along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. You could also stroll through Millennium Park and look at all the different sculptures, including Cloud Gate, also known as "The Bean."

4. Washington D.C.

If you're thinking "why would anyone want to spend spring break here" you desperately need to visit D.C. While you can't actually shop at The National Mall, it's a pretty incredible place to go and see the different sculptures and attractions. But if you're really just interested in shopping, Georgetown is the place to go, and you can even hit up Georgetown Cupcakes and have the best cupcakes you'll ever eat.

5. Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is full of touristy things to do. They have amazing shopping districts, food, and bomb live music. Plus a ton of celebrities live and visit Nashville frequently.

6. Seattle, Washington

Besides being an incredibly beautiful city, there's plenty of things to do in Seattle. For the "basic white" girl in you, you can visit the original Starbucks! You could also visit the famous Space Needle or take a walk in one of the numerous parks the city has.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
