Six Types Of People Who Watch "The Bachelor"

"The Bachelor" came on the air and into our hearts in 2002. In over 14 years, there has been 20 seasons, and three spinoff shows. Our culture cannot get enough of the Bachelor drama, the relationships and the break ups. The premiere of the 20th season with the bachelor, Ben Higgins, brought in 7.5 million viewers in the United States. So the real question is, who are all of these 7.5 million people who tune in every Monday to watch girls fight for the attention of one man? Well, I have broke down these viewers into 6 different categories of why they watch the bachelor.

1. The True Fans: These are the people who have watched all 20 seasons of "The Bachelor," "The Bachelorette," "Bachelor in Paradise" and "Bachelor Pad." They are the ones who follow "The Bachelor" on all forms of social media, and have watching parties every Monday night. Their week revolves around "The Bachelor," and talk about it all week until the next episode airs.

2. Those who watch it as a guilty pleasure: These are the people who watch it to get their mind off their terrible Monday. They might not watch it every week, but still enjoy seeing the stupid drama on the show. They may be doing other things while watching the show, but still know the girls and know basically what is going on. They might not tell everyone that they watch the show, and keep the fact that they enjoy the show on the down low.

3. Those who are forced to watch it: These people take it on for the team. They are the boyfriends, friends, roommates who are just there when other people are watching it. They do not care about the bachelor or if he finds true love, but still have to sit through those two-hour episodes. They may talk through the whole show and make fun of it, but are still roped in to watch the show. They would never willingly watch the show, but when they are with other people, they have no other option.

4. The hopeless romantics: These are the people who actually think that the bachelor will find the one. They believe that this type of dating can actually work for a man/women to find their true love. These romantics do have evidence to back up their claim with Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici, and Ashely Hebert and JP Rosenbaum. They are the ones who tune in for their televised weddings.

5. Those who hate it, but cant stop watching it: These are the people that tweet about how stupid the show is, but still watch it EVERY WEEK. They watch the show to make fun of the girls, the drama, the crazy dates and of course, the bachelor. They judge everything about the show, but still watch it.

6. Those who have serious FOMO: These people hate to feel left out of a conversation, or a night out. They only watch "The Bachelor" so they know what everyone is talking about on Tuesday. They watch "The Bachelor" to contribute to a conversation and understand what everyone was tweeting about.

So, which category do you fall into?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
