Long distance relationships are hard and often the pretense is that they will not work out. But, that's not always case. Most times, relationships don't work out because the couple is simply not right for each other, not because they couldn't make the distance work. Now, don't get me wrong, long distance is hard; Hell, even short distance can be hard. But there are many things you can do to make your long distance relationship work. Here are some tips:

1. Video Chat

Video chatting is SO great when you can't be with each other in person at that very moment but still want to talk and read the other's expressions. Video chatting can really help strengthen the bond that may be harder to keep while texting or emailing. Phone calls are a great alternative if video chatting is not an option for your specific relationship.

2. Write Love Letters

Love letters are a great way to help keep the romance alive and are great keepsakes. In the letters, address them and let them know how much you truly love them. Let your feelings really show, regardless of whether you're a well written person or not.

3. SnapChat

In today's society of technology and endless communication, Snapchat is a good way to talk to your partner and still see their face. It's quick, accessible and fun!

4. Don't Panic

Trust me, I know that fears can creep into your mind when your significant other is far away, living a life that may be completely separate from you. But, it's important to remember that healthy relationships have space and trust. Trust your partner, just as they should trust you. If the two of you can't talk 24/7, remember, that's okay.

5. Communication Is Key

The most important thing in any relationship is being open and honest, always. If you or your partner has any fears or worries, it's never good to hold them in. Talk about them, bring them up, solve them, work them out.

6. Love Each Other

Always remember, love is the important thing. If you love each other, you can try and make it work. If you both follow your hearts and remember that the distance isn't forever, it can work. Love can conquer any distance. Love always wins.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
