The worst thing about being a writer is when you just can't write. Writer's block is inevitable, however, I've found a few tips and tricks to use when trying to find the perfect prompt for when you're stuck and don't know what to write about.
1. Passions.
The first thing you wanna give a shot at, is writing about the things you love the most or that are very close to your heart. Writing from experience not only gives your writing a more personal approach but it's also from a perspective of someone who's dealt with said passion first hand.
2. What's going on around you.
One of the best ways to get your audiences attention, is to write about the surrounding political events, celebrity scams, etc,. It keeps your audience updated with events around you and keeps your dash filled with great articles.
3. Take a break.
Sometimes the best thing to do is just walk away. Take a walk outside, go get some coffee or a bite to eat. The best thing to do is just let your brain refresh and clear itself instead of giving yourself a headache.
4. Read a couple pages or chapters from your favorite book, or the paper.
Revisiting some of your favorite old books or reading over the newspaper gives you a new perspective; a new look from someone else.
5. Write about your dreams.
There's no writing like those of adventurers. People that have high hopes and dreams, their writing will pop the most because they're writing not only about their passion but about their futures and what they want for themselves. The hopeful and mesmerizing tone a dreamer gives to their writing is truly beautiful.
6. ALSO; No matter the awful prompt your given, always do it right.
There's always gonna be those horrible prompts your given that you've no idea where to even start. Well, just because it may seem dumb to you,it could still be a big hit. Don't bull crap it just to get it done. That's an embarrassment to writers everywhere.
Never doubt your writing and never give up just because you have writers block. It's only a small bump in the road until you get to your final draft.
