There are millions of people in the world, and in turn, there are thousands upon thousands of families. Some of those families are big and some small. Some have one child, while some have as many as seven children. In my case, there are four children and lucky me, I'm the only girl. That's right, I grew up with three younger brothers. This is the part where most people say "Wow, what's that like?" I can never really answer this question because it definitely depends on the day, but here are 6 things you could only understand if you grew up with brothers.
1. It's true, boys are smelly.
All three of my brothers play sports, one footballer, one soccer and one that does just about everything. An air freshener is definitely your best friend when it comes to brothers. They'll come home from practice and they might as well have brought home their whole sports team!
2. They're very messy.
It doesn't matter where in the house you look, there is always a trail left behind after the boys. Towels, shoes, socks and even underwear will be left wherever they are dropped and it's a miracle if you can actually get one of them to pick it up.
3. Don't expect your leftovers to be there later.
Since they're growing boys, it's no secret that they eat a lot. Well, thought you'd save those leftovers for yourself? Think again. Unless you hide it, it will be gone before you can even turn around.
4. Wrestling is a common occurrence.
It doesn't matter if you instigated it or if you were just walking into the kitchen, it's always best to watch your back. There's always a chance of being "sneak attacked."
5. You're always outnumbered when it comes to the tv.
In this household, our tv options are sports, sports, and more sports.
6. But no matter our ages, I know that I'll always have the three best friends.
We pick on and annoy each other 75% of the time, but I have to admit that I love my brothers and all their goofiness 100% of the time.
If you ask anyone in my family, they can assure you that I wanted a sister more than anything. I got so unlucky that almost all of my cousins were boys too! But even though I didn't get my wish, I wouldn't trade these three for anything.
