While some people may be ready for Christmas (me), we have to face the reality: Thanksgiving comes first. With Thanksgiving break being this week, you may not be sure how you're going to spend it. Whether you prefer to stay at home or wander the streets, there are many different things that you can do over your Thanksgiving break. If you find yourself at a loss for ideas, this article may be for you.

1. Work.

If you're like me, this is how you will be spending your Thanksgiving break. While it may not be ideal, it pays the bills and it gives you something to do.

2. Black Friday Shopping.

Every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving, people face the insanity and go Black Friday shopping. It's not for everyone, but a lot of people use this day to get their Christmas presents. If this is how you decide to spend your time, be careful. There are huge crowds, long lines, and tons of traffic. However, there are amazing prices, and almost everything goes on clearance.

3. Put Up Your Christmas Tree.

I know, this break is for Thanksgiving. However, there are still three days left of your break once Thanksgiving is over. That's ample amount of time to cover your house in Christmas decorations! It's alright to put up Christmas decorations as long as you remember to celebrate Thanksgiving.

4. EAT!

This is the best part of Thanksgiving. You can eat as much as you want, and you won't get judged for it. You want a fourth plate of food? You go eat that fourth plate of food! However, don't forget to wear stretchy pants.

5. Give Thanks.

This is the point of Thanksgiving. You are supposed to give thanks and be grateful for everyone and everything you have. While the food is amazing, we should remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

6. Relax.

It's your Thanksgiving break. Relax. You don't have any homework to do, no essays to write, and no early morning classes. Take the time to breathe and give yourself a little R&R.

Even though it will end far too quickly, enjoy your Thanksgiving break. Spend time with your family and make the most out of every moment. For some people, Thanksgiving is one of the only times they get to see their family. Well, take advantage of that. Play with the kids, talk with your cousins and siblings, and let your grandparents pinch your cheeks. Thanksgiving is the time of the year when we're supposed to give thanks for everything in our life. So that's what you should do. Give thanks for your family and friends. Be thankful that you've survived school so far. Appreciate everything that you have, and make memories that will last the rest of your life. Happy Thanksgiving!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
