6 Stress Relievers For Midterms

We have reached that point in the semester when stress runs high, and the only thing getting us through each day are the thoughts of spring break. That's right — it's time for midterms. When we get stressed, most of us have some type of stress reliever that we turn to for comfort, like eating, which isn't always great for us in the long run. Here are six alternate stress relievers that you can experiment with that don't involve eating.

1. Go workout.

Working out is actually the best thing to do when you're stressed, but you're usually too stressed to want to work out. Ironic, huh? Even if you only have time to go for a brief walk, a bike ride, hop on an elliptical or do some yoga; any type of physical activity is a great way to relieve stress.

2. Color.

Did you know that there is such a thing as adult color books? Really! But you don't have to have a coloring book to do this! Creativity is a great stress reliever, and you can do more than just color. Drawing and journaling are great options too.

3. Go to an animal shelter.

If you have never gone to your local animal shelter, humane society or Petland, then you already have a bigger problem than just stress. Playing with dogs, cats or other animals in general is an incredible way to boost your mood (if you're an animal lover).

4. Jam out to your favorite song.

A quick jam sesh is always a great way to blow off some steam. Seriously, next time you're in your car or room, just blast a song, sing, dance and then try to tell me that wasn't incredibly satisfying.

5. Call your family.

How often do you actually call your family? Confiding in your family's love and support when midterms and school have got you down in the dumps is a great way

6. Read your Bible.

Finally, and most importantly, fall on your faith. Whether you have a favorite verse that you go to in times of need, doubt or stress, or you just need to Google something encouraging, this route is always a win-win.

Whatever type of stress reliever you turn to during midterms just make sure that it's good for you in the long run! And remember — the stress is only temporary.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
