Sometimes we all need a little push to get us through a tough time. There's an endless list of hardships people face on a daily basis. With music and songs like these, people are able to know that they aren't alone. Whether it's standing up and fighting for what you want, or overcoming judgments from others, these inspirational songs will help you find the confidence you need to get through this tough time. So sit down with some headphones and block out the world for a couple minutes, and just listen to these songs. Then, stand up and keep fighting, because you've got this!

1. "Fight Song," by Rachel Platten

This one almost goes without saying, but this one's a power song. Just listen to it and believe that whatever you're going through, you can do it.

2. "Firework," by Katy Perry

Throwing it back to my middle school days when this song came out. This song's all about confidence and that's pretty important at any stage in your life. There are some really cool acoustic covers online as well if you want do some looking. The YouTube duo Karmin created a really cool cover of this song.

3. "Second Wind," by Maren Morris

This song is off Maren Morris' Hero album and I listen to this one on the daily. It's about defying the odds as well as expectations. This is definitely my favorite off this playlist because it's got such an edge to it. This track instills confidence and determination with the powerful lyrics. Take all the negativity in your life, all the judgments, doubts, and all the people who bring you down, and use that as power for your success story.

4. "Rise," by Selena Gomez

Such a great song! It reminds us that we can rise above anything. You're better than the judgments, labels, or scrutiny of others. Every setback in life is just making your success story that much better.

5. "Hold On," by Wilson Phillips

I first heard this song in the movie Bridesmaids and if you haven't seen that movie, you should. This comedy had "Hold On," in the soundtrack and it makes me laugh every time I hear this lighthearted song.

6. "Fly," by Maddie & Tae

This song is so sweet and an easy listen that just reminds us to never give up on your dreams and goals. Despite every challenge, keep moving forward and live in every moment go the journey.

Remember, you've got this!

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
