There are some friends who are type A and have everything organized, there are some who manage well enough, and then there are those who are a hurricane. Here are six signs that you may be the irresponsible storm out of your friends.
1. You lose everything, and I mean everything.
Sometimes it’s your car keys, oftentimes it’s your ID, and always it’s your phone. Actually, if we’re being realistic, you lose books, sweaters, and your dignity as well. Things are left at restaurants, in ubers, or are found months later underneath your bed
2. There is always a rescue mission involved.
Whether it’s yourself that needs the rescuing or your lost phone, your friends are now use to playing the part of a rescue team. What do you mean your phone is in another town? Why are you still stranded there? If you’ve heard these questions before, then you are more than likely the irresponsible friend.
3. People actually LOL when someone suggests that you be in charge of something.
It’s not that you aren’t capable of planning an event or heading a group of people, but oftentimes you find yourself saying “we’ll just wing it” on things that most definitely should not be winged.
4. The thought of 'adulting' terrifies you.
To you, anxiety and the real world are synonymous words.
5. Times, dates, deadlines--they're all irrelevant to you.
It’s an accomplishment if you show up only ten minutes late to an event, considering that you’re probably late to everything. That dinner you thought you had on Wednesday? Yeah, it was actually scheduled for Tuesday, but close. And while others stress about deadlines, you’ll occasionally consider turning things in on time.
6. You literally go missing.
Some nights, you just do your own thing, but people have no idea where you are for 10+ hours. This means you often find yourself waking up to texts from concerned friends asking of your whereabouts and the status of your health.
Being the irresponsible friends does not mean you are lacking. You are equally dependable and kind. It just means you have a relaxed view on structures and order, and at least you keep life entertaining.
