Nothing beats coming home after a really bad day to see that your pet is waiting for you at the door. All the noise that they make out of excitement just from simply seeing that you've returned home. if you pause and think about it, finding a creature with a completely different experience of life still somehow understands companionship and love is amazing. How sad it is that such pure and innocent creatures often live a short life. Pets are often cherished to the extent of you calling him/her your own baby, because in a way they become the image of your well-raised child. We as busy, failing humans don't really deserve such undiminished love.
1. Your pet is nothing other than loving towards you, even if given poor treatment.
Oh yeah, I'm going there. Even pitbulls when granted proper training and given exceptional affection grow up as safe family pets. It is proven that animals tend to reflect the type of environment they are surrounded in. So if you are giving your pet(s) the attention that they deserve, they're going to return the favor ten fold because animals don't normally have "bad days" the way that we humans do.2. You are (literally) their hero
Without you, your baby could have quite easily ended up without a home on the streets, stuck in a shelter, or put down. You saved your personal choice of furball. You decided that you weren't going to allow that animal to live a miserable life and that you were going to protect and raise them. So why do we forget that we made that conscious decision and point out how big of a nuisance our pets can sometimes be? We made the choice to own them so we have to love our pet through accidents on the carpet to cuddling at night when we're sad.
3. They're your hero right back
I am willing to bet that every single pet owner agrees with this statement while the non-pet owners shake their heads in dismay. We owners swear up and down that our pets care about us right back because they show us appreciation in differing ways. Whether that means they'll come lay on your chest when you're bawling your eyes out because of Grey's Anatomy or they'll rub against your leg after feeding them. We sense their feelings without our pets having to directly tell us with words.4. They're innocent
Sometimes pet owners will try and say that their pet is doing bad things on purpose. That they're "acting out" as though they're crazed teenage kids. When in actuality, maybe your pet is mistaking their normal rights from wrongs for some other reason you're not seeing. Maybe they were stressed out. Whatever the reason may be, the fact of the matter is that we humans do not understand the way that our pet's minds work, therefore we cannot blame them for their actions.
5. They thrive off of reinforcement
If we're going to be honest with ourselves, we're not very good at remembering other's needs as well as we are complaining about our own. Your pet is literally always waiting for words of affirmation, treats, or belly rubs. Pets live simple lives, but everyone gets caught up in their own world of issues that sometimes, we neglect to show our babies a little extra attention that they more than deserve to have.
6. They listen to you when you need to vent

So maybe we don't deserve our pets because God knows we're not innocent, and we sure don't even treat our friends and family with the respect that our pets give us. But I want to challenge that stubborn thought for a second. Instead, think about how impressive of a life that your pet got to enjoy nearly every single minute in utter bliss simply by having the best owner they were ever so lucky to have.
