Admit it, everyone loves a good reality television show. A little drama, a little crazy, and a lot of questions left at the end of an episode. I personally would like to thank Lifetime for an endless stream of reality shows that always keep me on my toes, but not to discount many other channels. Without further ado, here are the six reality television shows that everyone should watch.
1. "Dance Moms" -- Lifetime
Abby Lee Miller and her elite competition team have it all. They are one of the top dance companies in the country, and, along with that, they went from being your average Pittsburgh dance studio to moving to Los Angeles to compete in the sun and against the stars. Between the unpredictable mood of Abby Lee, the often-psycho moms, and the amazing choreography you will not be let down.
2. "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" -- ABC
Who even knows how many seasons there have been, or even how many of the relationships have worked out, but boy what a fun way to find your soulmate -- by having your personal life strewn across national television on a reality show! It might be a little weird, but the heart wants what the heart wants. The suspense of finding out if your favorite guy or gal will make it to the final rose ceremony will keep you hanging on a limb and come back week after week for more.
3. "Bring It!" -- Lifetime
Miss D. is the choreographer and coach of the Dancing Dolls in Jackson, Mississippi, and they are full of majorette pride. That's their style -- majorette. Street battles, stand battles, and even coaches battles aren't as violent as you might think a battle is, but don't underestimate the Dancing Dolls -- things can get pretty heated when competing. A little bit of a spinoff from "Dance Moms" -- the mothers of the Dancing Dolls all want their daughter to be at the top -- but just a little less crazy. But fear not, crazy is not in short supply on "Bring It!"
4. "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" -- E!
You'd have to live under a rock to not know about the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and you'd have to live on a different planet to not know about their reality television series and its many spin-offs. "Momager" Kris Jenner tries to control every part of her six children's lives whether that's photo shoots, modeling gigs, or video game meetings. They're all a little crazy, but a peek into their day-to-day lives is nothing short of exciting, even if Kim is a little selfish, Khloe is a little annoying, and Kourtney is queen.
5. "Kate Plus 8" -- TLC
Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaiden, Colin, Leah, Joel. Some of the most famous children before they were even out of diapers. The kids of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" are grown up and now starring along with mom Kate on her own show. Eight kids is a lot to manage as a single mom, but Kate certainly does not use that as an excuse to slight her kids of fun and adventure. On this TLC show, yelling, arguing, and crazy are in no short supply, but neither is love and excitement!
6. "America's Next Top Model" -- The CW
Without a doubt, you've sat through a few "ANTM" marathons without even realizing that you've watched three seasons in one sitting. It's one of those shows that makes you think, Wow, good thing I never wanted to be a model. Some of the challenges that contestants have to compete in will either blow you away or just leave you feeling awkward. Tensions often run high, which makes for some great cat fights, but it all comes down to who wants to be on top.
Sure, there are hundreds of other reality shows out there, but I personally think there aren't any others like these six. If you don't believe me, go ahead and watch a few episodes, and then we'll talk. Until then, don't knock it until you try it.
